Nearly the same as the original Shabo (see description below)

With the added benefit of a 'Sawari' (to produce the buzzing sound of a Tsugaru Shamisen) and a slightly longer neck for increased overall hold-ability.

Shabo Description:

A great beginner 'Shamisen' trial option, but not quite doable for full Tsugaru Shamisen songs.

Decent sound but small neck made of soft wood makes playing tsugaru songs a challenge, while increasing the overall wear-out speed.

Shabo Premiere

Pros:

  • Affordable

  • Closer to shamisen shape than Cardboard shami

  • Synthetic skin

  • A few extra features that make it closer to a real tsugaru shamisen (sawari, length, etc)

Cons:

  • While slightly longer than 'Shabo', still a bit small for most players (especially for Tsugaru style)

  • Almost… TOO light

  • Likely to wear out after extended regular use
